| In the design of steel frame structure ,the engineers generally design the beam-column connection as so-called "rigid joint" to resist the structure's lateral and reduce the lateral displacement efficiently. But after the Northridge Earthquake ,these connections were found to be fractured in more than 200 moment-resisting steel frame buildings in the Los Angeles region. So the behavior of beam-column connections has received considerable attention and many investigators have studied many alternative connections. Therefore, the paper is dedicated to study a semi-rigid joint—top and seat angle with double web angles connection . The research of this connection under monotonic and cyclic loading is simulated using MSC.PATRAN/MARC software. The damage mechanism under the moment loading is studied and the hysteresis curve is obtained. At last, the hysteresis model is defined to academic numerical foundation. |
