A strong-functioned potable vibration measurement and analysis system based onvirtual instrument is discussed. The instrument is composed of the host computer and thesubsystem. The subsystem realizes communication with the host computer by USBinterface, and the master exerts the centralized control of the slavers. The central part ofthe subsystem is a DSP chip. The subsystem is composed of the vibration pretreatment,acquisition and transformation of data. All of logical control is completed by CPLD chip.The work mode and work processes of the subsystem are submitted to the managementof the host computer. The development of the host computer's software is based onvirtual instrument technology. The instrument has many functions, such as time domainanalysis (time waveform, auto-correlation, cross-correlation, orbit), amplitude domainanalysis (histogram, probability, probability density, skewness, kurtosis), and frequencydomain analysis (frequency response function, FFT spectrum, linear spectrum, autopower spectrum, cross-power spectrum, cepstrum).
