It has the foundation and key function at the composition of space form in building, the creation of visual image and the expression of spirit content. Nowadays the building design current surges. New concept and technique appear repeatedly, that causes many varieties about the wall form of building compare with before. At the same time, these varieties become the outside embodiment of the concept of architecture with different style, different principle. It become the core skill of architectural design nowadays that how to express the space characteristics and the image feature of building and further to express the spirit of building by the composition model of the. wall in space and the form creation of the wall surface. This thesis probes the wall of building again from four different angles. They are material support of the wall, construction of the object, form of the wall surface and connotation of the spirit Attempt to get all-round cognition about the space construction of the wall, thus to play the aggressive leading function to the concrete architectural design.The paper is divided into 5 parts, including 8 chapters.Part I including chapter 1 (introduction) mainly elaborates the history background and the actual meaning of the research about the space construction of the wall in building, and makes the explanation about the basic concept, the present condition of study, the method and purpose of study.From the history of the wall construction, the material condition that wall is depended on such as material, structure and function, Part II including chapter 2( the origin of history) & 3( the material foundation) mainly elaborate the material factors of the wall construction and the mutual relationship about them.From the view of "Object-Space", the wall is regarded as the object element in space.
