This paper studied Adjustable Reverberation Time(ART) deeply bytracing and synthetizing internal and overseas current corelativeinformation. Many kinds of coupled rooms are in a hall, which impact the qualityof tone in some degree. These coupled rooms are easy to be neglected byarchitects and acoustics engineers. This paper take these coupled rooms as research objects.Thereverberation time is optimized ,and the accoustic defects are avoidedby analyzing the charcaters of the coupled rooms on ART and its effectson tone quality of a hall. The coupled rooms in the hall are simulated by the software EASE,atthe same time the characteristic of that, including cubage, soundabsorption property of the wall material, position and the orifice formof the coupled rooms, are also simulated. For instance, the accuracy of thesimulation by EASE was tested through the testing and simulation of theArchitecture Technology Graduate School of Architecture DepartmentinTianjin University. The impacts of the quality of tone by the coupledrooms on the fix quantify can be made sure through the analyzing of thecomputer simulation result of the coupled rooms.Utilizing coupled roomsas substitute for the traditional ART structure to achieve themulti-function of the hall is very economical can be concluted. The noises of surroundings and equipments must be take in account atthe same time in studying coupled rooms,as well as fitments in the hall.
