| Nowadays people have paid much attention to the noise of automobile and motorcycle. The special Computer Aided Design (CAD) system is the necessary way to improve the sound quality of vehicle by promoting the design quality and efficiency of products. According to the investigation of vibration and noise of motorcycle, the author has made a deep research of muffler development on CG125 motorcycle. The system design, which includes modern design method, combines calculation and analyses, three-dimensional models and follow-up programmed. It also reserves a large space for further development. The digital 3D model of motorcycle muffler was simulated in this paper, which based on the advanced concept and technology of concurrent engineering and also the parametric design of the components. In order to optimize the structure of the muffler, the author make a deeply research on the effects of structural parameters on the noise elimination characteristics of the muffler by applying the advanced design theories and methods. The results show that the following three elements are the most obvious effective factors of the noise elimination characteristics: the relative position of the central line for input and output tube, the inner extended length of the tube in expanded cavity and the radius of the tube for certain volume muffler. The thesis studies the development method of UG thoroughly and realizes the whole process of development by Visual C++6.0 and UG/Open API. In order to perform the development, the research applies many key techniques in the process of the system design, such as assembly design and advanced modeling techniques. Through customization of MenuScript, visible design of UIStyler and dynamic storehouse programmed, the CAD system of motorcycle muffler is set up.
