This paper presents a parametric 3D model design system for motorcycle muffler productions which are key components in noise elimination. The system is based on the model generation software named unigraphics. The model generation procedure is parameterized and different muffler configurations can be produced in an interactive way. The geometric algorithms, the software features and its basic characteristics are presented in this paper, along with a demonstration of its abilities in XY200GY muffler configurations.Making use of this system this paper describes a methodology which combines finite element analysis and mode style directions method for mufflers shape design, then makes a full-scale analysis of the structure and the acoustics performance of the muffler, The main goal is to obtain the dimensions of the acoustic muffler with the transmission loss (TL), being maximized in the frequency range of interest. In addition, An experiment has been made to gain the data which is necessary to increase the transmission loss and to validate the veracity of the data calculated.
