The control technology of power electronic devices is more and more complex by the development of power electronic technology. High frequency and digital control are the hot spots of the designs of power electronic device. The performance of the control system depends on the performance of MCU(Micro Control Unit) while digital control technology is being used.Nowadays,MCU/DSPs are used as the system core in control modules of digital power electronic devices,the dispersed operation and control are implemented by software.In many application fields of high frequency,the speed of the controllers which are widely used at present(such as high performance single chip or DSP) can't meet the needs.Compared with single chip and DSP, the CPLD/FPGA devices possess higher speed.And we can simplify the system structure,implement high speed algorithm,and it possesses higher performance/price ratio.Keeping in mind of the PLDs'advantages, this thesis applies it in power electronic control technology to meet the needs of some real-time application. This thesis analyses the operation principle of SPWM inverter, discusses the method of the design of high performance PWM controller using CPLD/FPGA,gives the modules and design methods,takes simulation test for every module.IT also puts forward a method of the monitor system of power electronic device based on Nios embedded processor,gives the hardware interface,software flowcharts,and some source codes.And we carries out part of system simulation and actual wave,and proves the intenal high performance of PLDs and the application advantage in power electronic control. We carry out high PWM controller using the FPGA device Cyclone producted by Altera Corp.,and test and verify the condusion mentioned in the thesis.
