In accordance with the development of water conservancy in China, concrete deck rock-fill dam become more and more popular as a new dam type in recent decade. It has wider applicability, smaller cost, simpler process and shorter time of construction. Furthermore, it can make use of the local materials. These excellences make concrete deck dock-fill dam fit with our national condition of water conservancy.In order to create an universal software applied to rock-fill dam filling, this paper analyzes the relations between different construction stages and areas, and discloses that, during construction process, each layer of different areas is filled one by one according to the stage provision and filling rule. Simulation of construction process, schedule analysis and dynamic visualization were solved primarily in this paper.There are six chapters in this paper. In chapter 1, the status and signification of the research are stated. In chapter 2, base on modifying and using the former congener study, some key problems are analyzed emphatically, such as the whole characteristic, the organization of filling work and the calculation of work quantity in rock-fill dam construction. Using the filling quantity showed by curves and the traffic productivity as the controlling conditions, the simulation model is established according to the schedule of construction stages and areas. In chapter 3, combining the computer simulation technology and the computer graphics, the planar and three dimensional animation showing the figure in different construction stages are achieved. In chapter 4, the framework and function of the software which is applied to rock-fill dam filling are introduced. In chapter 5, as an example, the software was applied successfully to concrete deck rock-fill dam of the Gongboxia Hydro Station. In the last chapter, the conclusion and the direction of additional research are propounded.This paper has created a software applied to rock-fill dam filling, it's characteristic is to make use of inputting data instead of establishing and modifying repeatedly the simulation model which is different for various material and construction conditions. The simulation results of concrete deck rock-fill dam of the Gongboxia Hydro Station are closed to the practical results, which provide a valid approach to solve many main problems, such as optimizing the construction process, the machines match, analyze the time limited for the construction process, and make this software can be applied widely.
