As to situation that long-term dispatching has weakness to the real-time dispatching, there is very important facet to take an active part in study on the theory and method about short-time dispatching and economic operation of hydropower plants. This paper study the situation of the daily optimal operation on cascaded hydropower plants, expatiate on some theories and methods of the daily optimal operation on cascaded hydropower plants, and discuss the practice of these theory and method carefully. The turbine allocation, daily optimal operation and real practice in hydropower plant are discussed in this dissertation.1) Based on reading a lot of domestic and foreign literature, the merits and shortcomings of the theories and methods in the optimal generation scheduling of hydropower plants are stated and the further research orientation are pointed out.2) The rule and the traditional ways for turbine load allocation are discussed, and advantages and disadvantages of Equal Increment Procedure, Dynamic Programming, and Non Linear Programming are analyzed. The units are researched on, and in-house load optimal distribution model of hydropower plant is divided into Two-level optimal model in this paper. The common Two-Level Progressive Optimality Algorithm (TLPOA) is described, and the method is passable to the load optimal distribution among the turbines.3) The object model of the current short-term optimal dispatching of hydropower plants is analyzed, discussed effect of time lag of the runoff on cascaded hydropower plants optimal dispatching and the approach to it. Based on dispatching of Three Gorges cascaded hydropower plants, the Maximum model of the number of the electricity subjecting to the load charted given, and the detailed solution steps are given.4) As the example show, the mathematical model of optimal dispatching and the approach to it mentioned in the paper has the obvious effect, and the method is practical and passable.5) This dissertation is summarized, and the problems for further work are discussed.
