Car-sharing, a method of avoiding encountering traffic congestion, is formed automatically among people.This essay has inquired into the status quo and feasibility of sharing cars by investigating working people and drivers respectively through survey, interview and questionnaire from such respects as ways of transportation, the condition of private cars, the approval degree of sharing cars, drivers' situation and system construction. Thus, the essay has drawn a conclusion that car-sharing, as a method of alleviating traffic congestion, has got acceptance from people and becomes feasible.Furthermore, based on the investigation of drivers and hitchhikers, this essay has analyzed and researched on several aspects such as the way of cooperation, the structure of ages, the problem of fare and various troubles to be aroused by sharing cars. Here is the conclusion: Car owners and hitchhikers will find their cooperators mainly by surfing on Internet or joining some clubhouses; Young females are the major supporters and participants of car-sharing; People consent to charging hitchhikers some money for car-sharing and seem to be optimistic about some hidden trouble.The author holds the view that car-sharing, on one hand, will have crucial significance in reducing the stress of public transportation, alleviating traffic holdup, enhancing the traffic capacity as well as the utilization ratio of transportation facilities and economizing on resources; on the other hand, it also has a series of problems such as difference in charge, the safety and legitimacy of sharing cars, which remain to be resolved.Finally, the essay has pointed out that effective car-sharing system should be formed through systematization, be implemented according to concrete situations and be made practical, reasonable and lawful.
