With harbor construction being oriented to deep-water and large-scale, it is necessaryto establish more scientific and reasonable design theory and calculating method to suitthe wicked environment in deep-water field. In this paper, dynamic response analysis ofthe large diameter bottomless cylinder breakwater under random wave is researched. Themain work in the paper is as follows:(1) The program, calculating the random wave on isolated large-diameter cylinder, iscompiled in FORTRAN program on the basis of the numerical simulation of the randomwave on isolated large-diameter cylinder. Comparing the result calculated by the programwith the testing result by model test of consecutive large-diameter cylinder breakwaterunder random wave, mutual influencing coefficient of consecutive large-diameter cylinderK'_x is confirmed. Random wave load on consecutive large-diameter cylinder breakwaterwill be calculated by K'_x, which offer the load dynamic parameter for dynamic responseanalysis of the large diameter cylinder breakwater.(2) The motion process of the large diameter cylinder breakwater under random waveis classified as three motion modes, namely rotation, rotation-and-small sliding, androtation-and-large sliding, on the basis of the test result. The dynamic plane model systemcomposed of spring-damper-antislider to control the lateral sliding is introduced, andcorresponding motion equations are established.(3) The formula to calculate added mass and the relation between the unit arearotational stiffness coefficient k'_φ and the unit area vertical stiffness coefficient k'_y areput forward according to the characteristic of the large diameter cylinder breakwater,which provide solid theoretical bases to establish the dynamic model of the large diametercylinder breakwater.(4) The dynamic space model system composed of spring-damper-antislider tocontrol the lateral sliding is established, using the software ANSYS. Three motion modesare simulated by horizontal joint, horizontal linear spring and comprehensive ultimatefriction respectively. Accurate result of dynamic response will be acquired by the dynamicdimensional model system.(5)A few of instructive conclusions are provided by comparing the results of dynamicresponse calculated with different models and methods in this paper, which are used forreference by further studying of dynamic response analysis of the large diameter cylinderbreakwater under random wave.The calculated results of a practical engineering example show that the establishedplane and space models and methods can be used in numerical simulation of dynamicresponse of the large diameter cylinder breakwater under random wave, and the twomodels can demonstrate the whole course of dynamic response of the large diametercylinder rightly.
