Residential Behavior Of The Aged And Outdoor Environmental Design

Out country has stepped into an aging society. The problem of caring for theaged has become a major social concern due to the facts of getting old withoutearning sufficient, the large cardinal number of the aging population, and thestructural alteration of the families.This thesis introduces the characteristics of the aging in our country, theadvanced experiences of the developed countries in the model of caring for the agedand the living style of the aged as well as the development tendency in caring forthem. Considering the way of caring for the aged, the outdoor environment neededby the aged, and the investigation and research on the aged people in twoneighborhoods, this thesis also objectively analyzes and evaluates the residentialmodel of the recently appeared new-style community built for the aged . Based onthe above statements, it propounds the living style suitable for the aged people inour country, the primary elements and feature in designing the environment for theaged to take outdoor activities.The research purpose of the thesis : pay close attention to the residence andlife of the aged people in the community planning and outdoor environmental design,to actually realize the ideal of being old, being cared, being old, being pleased, thus,they can enjoy themselves as long as they are alive.The research method: makes a basic research on the residential models and theconstitutive elements of the outdoor environment which are suitable for the aged inour country through the analysis about the characteristics of the aging and the aged,the development tendency of caring for them, as well as the theory of primaryenvironmental design and practical investigation.New and creative point: through analysis about the relevant characteristics ofthe aged in our country and the practical investigation, propounds the residentialmodel suitable for the aged people?living and being cared in community, suggeststhat, in planning and building the community , different kinds of residential buildingsshould be built according to their sizes, the outdoor environment needed for the agedto take proper activities be considered in designing as well.
