Present in the construction projects, some large-scale equipments often have to be transported by the road , but the weight of the transport vehicle is over the codeslstandards consumedly. And there are some old bridges with problems like concrete aging and dehisce or be broken and so on for substandard design , long-time service or overload service. The load-carrying capacity of the bridges fell off. So it is important to find out whether the transport vehicle could pass the bridges safely. This dissertation is mainly about the study on the problems of the bridges in the project of the large-scale equipments transportation.How to find out the best way for the transportation , how to evaluate the actual load-carrying capacity of the bridges and how to reinforce the bridges with poor load-carrying capacity are three important parts of this paper. The first part is about how to select the way for transportation with the example of the transportation project for the Tongbo hydrostation. The second explains how to evaluate the actual load-carrying capacity of the bridges theoretically and by loading test. The third is about how to reinforce the bridges, in this part there are three method be introduced: reinforing the bridges with CFRP , friction hoop for bridge pier coping reinforcement and the "bridge on the bridge" method. Finally , it is about the nondestructive examination for structural damage detection and its future.
