The bulky goods mainly refers to the overweight and overrun large mechanical equipment, such as large-scale drilling equipment, lifting equipment. With the expansion of the size and level of development of our country’s economic construction and the improvement of imminent transformation of economic development mode, the demand for large, heavy-duty equipments of infrastructure sectors, such as electric power, petroleum, chemical increasingly higher, These devices are often expensive, enormous dimensions, not removable and other characteristics, an transport object has all above characteristics increases the difficulty of transport projects. Whether these goods can safely and quickly arrived at the destination, will not only have a significant impact on the development of the national economy, but also has great strategic significance for national defense construction and large-scale projects as the result of the important role of the large equipments transportation in economy development, the study aiming at improving safety, economy and quickness of large highway transportation has great significance.In recent years, the size of large transport industry continues to expand, the basic theory of transport continues to improve. The particularity of large transport, lead to the study of large transport has been lagged behind. Safety, economy and convenience is the most important three aspects of large transport. How to make the large equipment, reach the destination safely, economic, convenient and has become the key of large transport. Based on reading a large number of domestic and international literature, combined with my own experience and knowledge accumulation, study on the factors affecting the successful completion of large transport projects was done. The main contents and conclusions of this paper include are:(1) In allusion to the problems of transportation route choice, the paper first demonstrate the importance of road transport in the large field of transport by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different modes of transport, then analysis the principles, steps and matters needing attention of route choice detailed, last, establish mathematical model of the transport route choice with the analytic hierarchy process, and solve the transport route choice of Heavy Lifting Equipment of a company from Chengdu.(2) In allusion to the problems of bridge bearing capacity, this paper summarizes the general method for rapid evaluation of bridge bearing capacity, then analysis the limitations of these methods when used in large transport. Therefore this paper put forward a evaluation method of bridge bearing capacity based on finite element model updating to judge the bearing capacity of large transport bridge. Last, combined with the characteristics of large transport, summarizes attentions in evaluation of bearing capacity of large transport.(3) In allusion to the problems of bridge reinforcement method, combined with the actual situation of transportation along the bridge, consider comprehensively the temporary and permanent reinforcement, proposes treatment method for large vehicles crossing the bridgeResearch results of this study will present some new solutions to problems encountered in large equipments transport, and provide a reference for the optimization of transport routes, and providing the method to determine the status and bearing capacity of the bridge with high reliability and shorter time-consuming, what is more, it will also provide a reasonable basis for adoption of access measures for the bridge have Insufficient carrying capacity...
