The Theories And Methods Of City Historic Environment Design

Since the reform and opening, China has accelerated economic construction and strengthened urban development. This situation makes the problem of city historic environment conservation more and more prominent and city image becomes more and more tedious. Therefore, people begin to seek local historic culture. In view of respect and accolade to historic environment and traditional culture by the vocation of architecture and urban planning, this paper, integrated with my own knowledge and reflection, addresses and explores the problem of city historic environment design.The paper starts with introducing the survey of related domestic and foreign research, as well as outlining the existing current problems of city historic environment conservation and the significance of historic environment design. All of those compose the basis of argument of the paper as a whole.Then, the paper, through the research of fundamental theory about historic environment design in urban design, elaborates on the theories and methods of city historic environment design, combined with the principles and methods of city historic environment conservation and the characters of landscape design of city environment. In this part, key point is to establish a content (or a standard) a city historic environment full of charming should include, that is, at least, possessing clear and readable historic profile and structure, having obtrusive historic theme, building up historic space sequence and keeping the continuity of historic environment. At the same time, specific design methods are suggested according to these standards.Finally, take the case of the design of history environment in the old city of Jingzhou of Hubei Province, we make a demonstration of the thoeries and the design methods ,and also a conclusion of that.With the development of city historic environment conservation and urban design theories, the research of city historic environment design theories steps into a brand new stage...
