This paper systematically studies the basic characteristics of magnetic water and main properties of cement pastes, mortars and concretes mixed with magnetic water and some magnetic field treated electrolyte solutions. Combining with experimental data and some computer simulation results, the magnetic water treatment mechanism is analyzed. MW-â…  magnetic treatment device are used in the research. For more research, four variables are introduced which includes magnetic field strength (B), current velocity(V), the length of magnetic field(L) and cycle period (C). Keeping the L and C unchanged, the effect of B and V on solution properties are investigated here. Then relationships between B, V, L, C and cement paste's properties are studied. Much attention was paid on C40 concrete with the best variables attained from the above tests, and the concrete properties are investigated. Afterwards the effects of some admixtures treated by magnetic field on concrete properties are studied. Effect of water and admixtures treated by best magnetic variables on micro-pore structure improvement, the volume stability, frost resistance and chloride permeability resistance are systematically studied. Possible mechanism is proposed after analyzing experimental data and Monte-Carlo computer simulation results from some references. Results show that: After magnetic treatment, the water PH value and the magnetic field intensity assumes the multiple-valued curve relates. Water conductivity and the surface tension all elevates. As to admixtures, after magnetic treatment, the electric conductivity of CF and MAA obviously increases, the SW-4 electric conductivity change is not big, even can reduce. All magnetic field treated admixtures' surface tension decreases. When mixed with magnetic water, the properties of cement paste and mortar improve. When mixed with magnetic water, concrete slumps increase, and initial compressive strength can improve 10% and compressive strength after 28-day cure can improve 20%. After decreasing 10% cement dosage, initial strength decreases but 28-day cure concrete strength increase 10%. As to CF and MAA, after magnetic treatment, the setting time advances clearly. The compressive strength of concrete improves a lot when mixed with magnetic treated admixtures. The total porosity of concrete decline and magnetic treatment has a positive influence on the pore size distribution of concrete. Durability of concrete would be greatly improved by using magnetic water.
