Now, more and more researchers are paying attention to lean concrete porous base course for its excellent function of draining, high modulus of elasticity and durability, and its economization, etc. Our country also has introduced it to Specifications of Cement Pavement Design for Highway.This article researches on the calculation method of thermal stress of cement concrete pavement on lean concrete base course. Present domestic and international research condition is introduced first. Then the nonlinear temperature field which is closely relative to thermal stress is analysed. Because the different interfacial contact condition between cement concrete pavement and lean concrete porous base course will influence the structure's thermal stresses, a lots of experiments have been carried out in laboratory to determine the different friction coefficients with different interfacial contact status and establish the model for calculating the thermal stress of the pavement structure. Based on this 3D nonlinear Finite Element Model , the thermal stress of cement concrete pavement and lean concrete base course can be calculated by finite element analysis soft ANSYS. According to the result of thermal stresses, this article gets the formula of calculating thermal stress and it is a very important supplement to present Specifications of Cement Pavement Design for Highway, which can only calculate thermal stress under two ideal condition—free separation or fully contaction.At last, the different synthetical fatigue stresses under different status of pavement and base course are calculated and the best kind of interfacial treated technology is recommended. It will provide theoretical supports for the application of this new kind of base course.
