With the development of the manufacturing industry of shipping, the request for shipping automation increases gradually too. For ensuring normal running of shipping, we must control ship parts' working condition, it includes main engine, generator, clutch, rudder oar, etc..The construction of the remote monitor system of ship can transmit data information of the running parts etc that helps to know if the parts on the well condition; it can transmit image data that help ship staff to solve the equipment fault and refit the equipment etc. as soon as possible.But the position of the ship on the sea is indefinite, and the communication between the ship and land can only transmits through the wireless network too. The high request of image quality of the monitor system keeps the data amount very large and the wireless network charges according to the flow. The expenses of the data transmission makes people need a way to solve this problem urgently.This text solves the problem between image quality and the expenses of network transmission of remote monitor system of ship by analyzing the JPEG2000 image compression standard and network progressive transmission, ROI characteristic, Motion JPEG2000 characteristic.
