The technology of large rotating machinery condition monitoring and diagnosis assures us that the rotating machinery can run in a safety, reliable, long-term and efficient way. It is very meaningful to both eliminating hidden fault and avoiding the happen of accident. The technology of large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring can realize the transfer and share of monitoring data, it is a significant development direction for the technology of large rotating machinery condition monitoring and diagnosis.In order to implement a large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring systemwhich has the ability of tolerance, flexibility and the balance of loading, this paper not only deepgoing studies on the large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring system, but also designs the architecture of a large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring system which is based on the technology of CORBA. Subsequently, it discusses the implementation of the CORBA server and the client program. Finally, it also describes the encapsulation and publishing of the client application and discusses the transmission of long distance data.The main content of this paper are as follows:Chapter one summarizes the important role of large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring, describes the actualities and development of large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring system both in and out of China.Chapter two analyses the benefit of integrating CORBA technology into the system of large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring and the main demand of this system, introduces the basic theories of CORBA. Then the CORBA based Multi-tier architecture of this system is designed. At last, the working mechanism of this system is also introduced.Chapter three discusses the data acquisition system which is the subsystem of the large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring system, designs the architecture of the subsystem. Then taking the Compressor as example, Chapter three realizes the data acquisition system.Chapter four analyses the benefit of adding a CORBA application server into the large rotating machinery remote condition monitoring system, implements the CORBA applicationserver and client application of the CORBA based system, it also realizes the ability of tolerance of the CORBA based system. Finally, it describes the encapsulation and publishing of the client application and discusses the transmission of long distance data.Chapter five discusses the foundation of the system's running environment, it also analyses the application example of the CORBA based system.In the sixth chapter, the final conclusion is made and the prospect to the work in the future is proposed.
