10kV distribution transformer is the main power (supplying) distributing equipment in the power supplying administration and enterprise at present. Its running quality directly influences the electricity quality that the transformer outputs. So it will improve the power supplying quality greatly and prolong the service life of the electrical equipment to strengthen the monitoring of the distribution transformer, improve the running level; eliminate failure and abnormal running way. In the same time, the monitoring for the distribution transformer is one of the necessary functions in the distribution network automation system that develops at present. Aiming at the much quantity, wide side and real time demands for the monitoring of the distribution transformer, a kind of design scheme is proposed. The scheme is the monitoring MIS based on GPRS. The research work of the paper has been divided into three parts:The first part of the research work is the design of the database. SQL Server 2000 is used as the MIS database, and there are user table, analog quantity record table, state quantity record table , alarming record table , remote controlling record table etc.The second part is the developing of the MIS software. Delphi 7 is used to design software. The functions of the software include the real-time receiving and storing of the data, the transmitting of the remote controlling order, the inquiring of the data, the show of the chart, the printing and other auxiliary functions.The last part is the developing of the real-time communicating technique between monitoring center and TTU. Two port-to-port protocols-TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) have been analyzed and compared. According to the communicating means of the whole system-GPRS and the actual situation of the distribution network data, UDP has been adopted and data frame has been defined.
