If a company is going to occupy the market in serious competition, he must have effectively creative design capability. The significant of a new product should be measure by customers. So, to manufacturing industry, having effective design method is important. A long time past, scholars find out that the product former design is important, and it can decide the cost of 60%-70%. The former design work mainly is of analyzing the request of customers and product, and drawing up design scheme. Therefore, more designers focus on the former design-conceptual design. Conceptual design is a new design method. The method mainly analyses request of customers abstractly, and change the product function to behavior carrier, then draw up a conceptual product scheme.This dissertation introduces the current situation of conceptual design firstly, and studies the mechatronic conceptual design method according to the current product characteristic. And then work out a method of a mechatronic product conceptual design. This dissertation uses the method in design of automobile anti-lock braking system. And the result is perfect.Anti-lock braking system is considered perfectly by general public. If designer wants to improve the system, he should study more effective method. The braking system is designed again with the new mechatronic conceptual design method in this dissertation. The result is of drawing up perfect scheme.During the design process, there are lots of working include of analysis of vehicle operation characteristic, looking for a lot of articles, evaluating and simulating scheme with MATLAB, and so on. In this dissertation, the μ-s self-optimizing control method is adopted. Since adding to the pressure sensor, the slip can be control through double feedback. The new braking system, which is design again through mechatronic conceptual design, have many better characteristic such as shortening braking distance and braking time, decreasing oil pressure and make the system more safe. And what themore important is that the system can give the proper braking torque according to various road surfaces. Therefore, the system is also called intelligent braking system. Conceptual design is improving constantly. With the development of science, his content will be gradually enrich and amplify.
