In recent years, with the rapid development of economic construction, the foundation establishment and its scale in our country become larger and larger. In civil, transportation and hydraulic engineering, soft foundations and their treatment are often encountered; many cost-effective and convenient methods are widely applied in engineering, rigid pile composite foundation is one typical method among them. However, in contrast with the wide application of rigid pile composite foundation, its theoretical research is very much lag behind, which seriously restrains the development and betterment of the technology, and leads the theory on rigid pile composite foundation very weak.In this paper, first, the basic theory of composite foundation is introduced, the design and calculation method for the composite foundation are summarized, and the concerned theory and program for finite element analysis are introduced. Then according to the experimental data and Technical Code for Ground Treatment Buildings (JGJ 79-2002), the three-dimensional finite element analysis model is established, the deformation properties of composite foundation with single pile or group pile acted by the horizontal load is analyzed, the distribution law of strain and displacement in the pile and the location of broken pile are derived, the failure mode of the composite foundation subjected to the horizontal load is presented. Using the result of the numerical analysis, the identity and difference of load bearing properties between the composite foundation with group piles and pile foundation are discussed, the property of uneven settlement in the group piles is analyzed, a comprehensive discussion on various factors influencing the deformation properties for composite foundation is conducted, some practical and useful conclusions are drawn, these conclusions will play a role of guidance for engineering practice, and lay down a basis for further developing the theory for composite foundation. |
