| Along with the global civilization, characterized by the unification of global economy, information and technology, human being are facing the crisis of cultural assimilation and loss of regional identity while sharing the global culture and technological products. Therefore, the sustainability and development of local culture have become a problem facing the practices of regional architecture in the process of globalization.The dissertation is divided into three parts.The first section is Chapter One—introduction part. This part briefly introduces the contexts of writing, the purposes and meanings of the investigation, the contents and methods of study as well as tendency, and largely interprets the key words of the theme.The second section includes Chapter Two and Chapter Three. In Chapter Two, Under the guidelines of theories of broad sense architecture, regional architecture and vernacular architecture, the dissertation builds the theory system for the research of regional architecture through synopsizing the concepts of regionalism, critical regionalism, globalization and regionality, etc. These theories have become the base to the practices of regional architecture.Chapter Three introduces some representative architects and their works respectively from outside and inside, and thoroughly explores their architectural ideas. Their practices and thinking provide some references for our practices of regional architecture as well as lay a solid foundation for the following studies.The third section is the key part of the paper. It consists of Chapter Four and Chapter Five. Chapter Four integrates with Shuhe Chama culture posthouse project and analyses the process of constructing the regional architecture in Lijiang as well as produces all kinds of contradictions in this process, which is on the base of traditional building in Lijiang. And this chapter also investigates the details design of the regional architecture.Chapter Five is the conclusion of the dissertation. From three aspects—technology, material and technics, the paper summarizes the appropriate approaches of constructing the regional architecture .Finally, the dissertation considers that the practices of contemporary regional architecture should integrate with local culture and context to seek the road of indigenous architecture. |
