Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, energy attracts all over the world more and more attentions. Nowadays, power requirement in big and medium scale city is increasing ever day. Under this background, the cold air distribution with ice storage system which can keep balance on the electric power supply and reach a reduction of the running cost is developed gradually in China.Cold air distribution with ice storage system for air-conditioning is a new technology with some unique traits. The software for calculation on cold air distribution system design and for the product selection based on deep research of the system is developed and tested.Since the low air temperature and the big temperature difference in cold air distribution system with the ice storage, it is important to study further heat transfer characteristics of the apparatus to meet the requirement of the system. Currently, the internal melt ice-on-coil is often used in the project. This paper makes a study on internal melt ice-on-coil with partial charged method, and the following works have been done:1. The experimental apparatus are built up to carry out discharging cycles for the partial charged method of internal melt ice-on-coil. Characteristics of water temperature variation around the tubes aligned horizontally in the tank are analyzed.2. A suggestion improving discharge performance of the ice-on-coil tank by filling air is presented. The experimental apparatus for filling air is designed and built up, and the experimental result shows that the performance of the tank is improved well. Then this paper makes a further research of the effect of the air volume on theperformance of the tank.3. The initial experimental study on heat transfer characteristic of the ice-on-coil during charging before the discharge process is finished. Finally, the summary of this paper is given and some suggestions for further study are presented.
