With the development of PV-industry, more and more solar energy stations will appear, the solar array configuration being proper and using energy efficiently become important, it is necessary to test the characteristic of solar array. This paper compares and analyses the measurement of solar array based on the researched results, a new method is formed, the voltage and current signals are sampled continually by a high-speed AD convertor during charging capacitor by solar array.The solar array tester is analysed and designed in this paper based on following ways:1. Design the right hardware circuit and software according to the principles of characteristic measure.2. Communicate in USB between tester and PC, and the tester is powered by USB.3. Choose a fit mathematic model of solar array to appear the curve of PV-characteristic.4. Programmed the monitor software in VB6.0 and the characteristic of solar array is described in graph and number.5. Estimate the PV-characteristic in any conditions by the solar array data acquired in current temperature and sun light intensity.After the experiment and the results show the system is convenience and has high precision, it can show the characteristic of solar array in different ways.
