The traditional meter reading technology usually needs us to read analogical ammeter manually house by house. This way is not only affecting other's daily life, but also a hard work to a meter reader. Consequently the running efficiency of electrical power department is very low, at the same time the phenomenon of electrical power stealing and leaking is serious, which is contrary to the demand of modern intelligent management at present. With the technology development of micro-electronics, sensor, automation, computer and network, automatic meter reading technology and/or system improves rapidly. Thus automatic meter reading system of electrical power line as a popular type has been put into use. Whereas, Owing to large harmonics and disturbances in low electrical power voltage exist in our country commonly, which cause the system mentioned above running unstably and in low efficiency.To solve the problem of this common meter reading system in application, the paper proposed and developed an automatic meter reading embedded system based on internet. This system is a totally new AMRS (Automatic Meter Reading System), using internet as its platform to transfer data in long distance, single-chip transmitting technology to transfer data in short distance and embedded microprocessor as a server. A dynamic interactive Client/Server model based on B/S is adopted, which largely reduces the cost in building and maintenance.In system hardware design, a special electrical power energy measuring IC-AD7755 was selected; MCU gets the measuring data by calculating and dealing with the pulses which are produced by AD7755; Single Chip RF Transceiver-nRF401 communicates wirelessly with the sever in common frequency-433MHz in the structure of star topology; Samsung's S3C4510B in the structure of ARM7TDMI was used as the server, with uClinux as its embedded OS and BOA as its embedded web server; A dynamic interactive Client/Server system based on B/S model was designed, and customer can get what he wants through popular browser.As we expected, this system has a high stabilization and reliability,meeting the demands of electrical power running and managing, getting much economic benefits and running benefit, and having extensive practicability and market value.At last, some shortcomings and deficiencies in this system were pointed out and the suggestion of revision in the next stage was also proposed.
