The principal task of the inverstigator in water-sound equipment and underwater weapon system is to detect target and estimate its parameter from intricate ambient noise. The adaptive signal processing technical don't need any prior knowledge of the signal and the noise, as a result the adaptive signal processing technical has a deep development in recent years. This technical is used in this paper to the underwater singal prosesssing. The main contributions are as follows:Learn the principle of the adaptive signal processing; Study the performance of some adaptive arithmetic; By comaring the diference of the adaptive filter and the matched filter find the advantage of the adaptive filter.Study the characteristic of the reverberation, and simuate it in the compter; study the difference character of difference signals by using the ambiguity function. The principle and performance of the least mean square (LMS), adaptive conherent integration (ACI) and generalized adaptive coherent integrator (GACI) algorithm are discussed in this paper. The GACI algration is improved to reduce the sensitivity of the parameters to noise variation. Improved generalized adaptive coherent integrator (IGACI) algorithm is proposed to detect the signal in lower signal to noise ratio (SNR). Study some impoved Adaptive Line Enhancer (ALE), and use the IGACI to the ALE.Use FIR and IIR filter to realize the ALE. Improved character IGACI is proposed. Some lattice algorithms and improved lattice-based adaptive IIR notch filter are discussed and use them to the ALE. Use adaptive reverberation eliminator and IGACI ALE to detect the target hiding in the reverberation.IGACI algorithm is realized in ADSP21160.
