Active Sonar Adaptive Line Spectrum Enhancer

Some techniques about adaptive line enhancer (ALE) are introducedin this thesis, which are used in active sonar to improve its detectionperfOrmance.The principle and characteristics of ALE based on LMS algorithmare discussed in detail and the parameters of ALE are properlydetermined according to the particular sonar requirement.The hardware and software of the ALE for a ship-bome active sonarare designed, tested, and documented in detail. lt has been verified thatthe design along with the techniques adopted is correct. The workpresented in this thesis has been proved as an impohant improvement forthe ship-bome active sonar systems in service.
