The building technique of the modern concrete-faced rockfill dam is the significant achievement obtained in the field of modern dam construction. With increasingly quantity of the concrete-faced rockfill dams being construction or drown up to construction in our country in the last few years, some new design method and advanced construction technique have been developed. Among them, It is first used that non-stage face slap as a new construction method in the Gongboxia dam, which is also a great development for CFRD construction, only one stage face slab building method has more advantages than the traditional one, which could shorten the total project duration and add sedimentation period for 5 months. Sedimentation amount of the dam is only 6mm in the period of face slab construction by proto type observation, this means the possibility of face slab's structural crack is removed and total quality of the dam is improved, meanwhile, It means that the first generating unit could put into use ahead of schedule by 4 months and raise energy output for 12.6 billion kw.h as well as the income for 0.18 billion yuan RAM. However, there are many unsolved problems in theory and actual construction for the non-stage face deck over 200 meters in inclined long. The main work of this paper is launching for these problems.Using the finite element & numerical method .Combining the actual circumstance of the concrete-faced rockfill dams of Gongboxia , Separately non-stage long face deck and stage short face deck are analyzed without considering some conditions .This paper have also circulated the stress and distortion of dam bodies and face deck in completion period and storage period under two kinds of circumstances of the long face deck and short face deck, discussed stress and distortion of dam bodies and face deck under the same circumstance, discussed the influence which bring for different construction order; contrasting and analying the breakage circumstance such as misplace and stretch of vertical slit and peripheral joint of face deck, different stress and distortion between the both face deck is ensured, the work state of long face deck during construction and operation is ensured ,the design and construction numerical result is offered for the concrete-faced rockfill dams, thus keeping the face deck from diffirent destroy forms such as craze .distortion and water-stop invalidation ,for the purpose of constructing the high-quality engineering.Using ANSYS numerical simulation analysis and APDL, modeling, solving ,loading anddeformation between long face deck and short face deck is not much, the stress of long face deck is partially great ,but displacement result is basically similar .Especially ,The influence of the long face deck to dam bodies may be neglected .The feasibility adopting long face deck to construct is also argued .The research result of this paper not only provid the technique support for design and construction of non-stage long face deck , have higher practical value but aslo provid reference value for resolving the similar engineering problem using this technique.
