Baoton city, which is at the North of China and West of Inner Mongolia, as the economic center of west middle of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is the biggest base of rear earth industry, steel & iron and machine industry; and is also the second biggest industrial city in minority area of China, whose GNP exceeded ten billion Yuan after Luzon. The population of Baotou will reach 2.3 million in 2005.In recent years, urban construction of Baotou has been developed greatly. But the gas supply system, as the most important part of the people, is still weak. The manmade gas and the liquid gas is used at the same time. Most of the enterprises and people take coal, which is with low exothermic rate as the fuel, and the environment has been polluted seriously. It hinders the development of economic. At the present, the government begins to set up "Changqing - Huhhot gas field". Gas pipeline engineering and the gas station has been set up in Baotou. So the local government would like to hold this opportunity and carry out this project as soon as possible. A great deal of work for engineering suggestion has been dong. I have take part in this project and the main work I have dong are as the follows: 1. To invest the city conditions and gas supply conditions in the BATOU city. 2. To analysis the necessary of this project. 3. To summary the benefit conditions and arranges the proceeding of this project. 4. Financial analyses of this project. The total engineering budgetary is 606.51 million Yuan and we have carried out comprehensive analysis for this engineering project. It has been approved by the relative departments of our government. This project is proceeding successfully. Gas can be supplied in 2008.
