Firstly, the working principle of auto-recloser including how to realize fault monitoring, fault location and fault isolation with secter and auto-recloser is introduced. At the same time, the property and the structure of auto-recloser are described. From the above conclusion, it educes the functions that auto-recloser controller should have.Secondly, the hardware design of the recloser controller is introduced detailedly. According to the function, the controller can be divided into several modulars, such as power source, permanent magnetic actuator driver, charge and discharge, input of analog, input and output of digital, attemperation, communication, panel, memory and the microcotroller chip. This design makes microcontroller LPC2106 as central processor, and connects each modular with the CPLD chip of XC95108. It converts the analog signal into digital signal by the A/D chip of MAX 125. The permanent magnetic actuator driver modular adopts the structure of central symmetry and drives the actuator to close or open according to the instruction of microcontroller. The driver modular also has the function that avoids it to work when the coil is short circuit or break. The controller communicats with other controllers using the RS485 wires, and the software of the microcontroller can be online programmed by communication. This design has offered attemperation function to meet the usage of torrid and frigid zone. The Ferroelectric Nonvolatile RAM (FRAM) is used to hold the data and information of the controller when the power is cut. The hardware circuit of this design adopts software ORCAD to perform the emulatation of early stage.To raise the reliability of recloser controller, the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is also designed specially. This part not only introduces the technique that prevents the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), such as filter and shield, but also gives several emulatation models of EMI. At the same time, the content and means of the EMC test is also introduced.The real time operation system is helpful for program and upgrade, so how to port μC/OS-Ⅱ operation system for LPC2106 is introduced and the notice items is pointed out.This research proves that: the hardware structure of the auto-recloser controller is reasonable and reliable; the real time operation system of μC/OS-Ⅱ is helpful to improve the software development efficiency and reliability.
