The semi-physical simulation technique, an important testing method and technical implement widely used in the predevelopment, project demonstration, design and remodification of engine digital control system, shortens time spent on the development of engine digital control system, thus reducing the expenses. This paper discusses the main design of a semi-physical simulation of engine digital control system, and provides a way to design the signal interface emluator for data exchange between controller and engine real-time model computer in semi-physical simulation, which, in turn, has been tested by a monitoring and testing software. Starting with the presentation of semi-physical simulation technique and engine digital control system, the paper brings out, on the basis of analysis of main design for semi-physical simulation of engine digital control system, a designed scheme of signal interface emluator that derives from RS232 serial port. According to this designed scheme, hardware circuit of signal interface emluator is designed, which uses a SCM as the control center. And a software of SCM is designed by using C51. Finally, by using Visual C++ 6.0, some programs are designed to test the performance of signal interface emluator in the statically controlled mode. The result of test indicates that the signal interface emluator is viable.
