Riverbed evolvement analysis, two-dimensional numerical model and physical model have been applied to study on influence of Nanchang Yujiawan levee Realignment Project in Gangjiang River on the flood control and regime of river. By analyzing the historical and near future riverbed evolvement of nanchang reach of in Gangjiang River, the chrematistics of this reach have been summarized. The potential change of regime of river influenced by Yujiawan realignment project has been predicted. By using the two-dimensional water-sediment numerical model, two design proposals of the project are compared with each other. The change of water surface profile, flow field and the scour and deposition after the execution of one of them has been predicted quantificationally. The influences of the project on flood control, navigation and regime of river has been evaluated. The influences of the project on flood control when the excavation was back silting fully have been considered. The physics model is used to examine and analyze further the optimal proposal. The research has shown that the optimal proposal has no baddish influence on the regime of river, flood control, navigation and the harbor reach and berth of the alongshore.
