Sandbag Sloping Dike Body Construction Technics In Deep-water

Sandbag dike construction technics is wieldy used for waterway training and land reclamation. But this technics is mainly applied to shallow water projects, which is not sufficient for deep-water yet so as no successful project at present. This study presents three types of new sand-bag dike body construction technics, such as net dumping, overturn dumping and lift platform dumping, for deep water based on available facility. Relative experiments have been carried out to determine the material and size of the bag. The construction flows of these three technics have been designed, too.By applying to the 1st phase of Yangshan Port Enclosure project, these new technics are feasible whatever for construction quality and schedule according to the quality monitoring and controlling and the key part constructing. The new sandbag construction technics for deep-water not only promote the Yangshan Port Project but also carve out a new foreground and fields for sandbag. The new technics and the application of this study might be consulted with the port engineering aiming to the deeper water and larger magnitude, especially in the area lacking of constructing material.
