Nowadays, with the rapid development of network technique, it's possible to monitor and control equipments remotely through network. The method can extend control range and make it possible for operators not to operate the machines on the spot. The paper introduces network technique into hydraulic technique originally and puts forward remotely controlling the hydraulic pump test-bed through campus network because there are loud noise harm to operators and the leak high-pressure oil easy to hurt operators on the spot. In this kind of system, operators are not necessary to stay on the spot, they can remotely control the hydraulic pump test-bed, finish different tests and acquire the result of the test through a computer connected to the campus network. At first, the paper designs the whole frame of the remote control system of the hydraulic pump test-bed and Browser/Server structure is employed to construct the system. Remote supervisor doesn't need to use particular software system, just installs web browser. By the browser, remote supervisor visits web server and fulfill controlling the test-bed. Then, a computer control system used in hydraulic pump test is designed. The system can accomplish the test automatically and the data is collected in time, handled with and saved. The establishment of the system is ready to complete the remote control. In the end, the methods by which the remote control is completed are discussed in detail. The system employs TCP/IP and Windows Sockets to fulfill network communication. A communication data structure is designed to finish the data transmission. An ActiveX control which can be embedded in the pages is also designed to show the real-time data on remote supervisor browser. Pages are compiled with HTML. The network security which has the important influence on the system is also discussed. In the hydraulic pump test system, loading system is very important. The system designed by the paper adopts proportional throttle to load. Recently, with the appearance of the digital control technique, the digital hydraulic valves have much advantage when they are used in the hydraulic system, so the paper investigates digital pressure valve. The paper describes the operating principle and performance of digital pressure valve and decides to adopt screw mechanism to transmit the power. As to the stepping motor which is the key component finishing the Electron/ Mechanism conversion, the paper describes the method which is used to drive and control it. In order to control the pressure accurately, closed loop control is used to control the stepping motor.
