Non-cohere granular stone is widely used as a kind of material of road pavements, and it's also widely used in base or sub-base of flexible road surface in overseas by now. According to different use function, the variety of granular stone can be classified from low-strength granular block, such as sand and gravel, graded sand and gravel, non-screening macadam, to high-strength graded macadam and high-quality water macadam. But it's commonly used high-quality rolling macadam in gravel base, using weathered stone in building gravel base is unusual and concerned study is scarce.Starting from the basic performance test of material, combining the physics mechanical performance of material with structural performance of granular base, this paper studies and analyses the indoor vibrating-compaction means, which should suit to the weathered stone, and the factor that can influence gravel base CBR. To valuing the interlock strength of gravel base, we also had done large-scale straight shearing test in door. Combining the indoor study with the test-road study, this paper has recommended the parameter of choosing material and mixture design, which suit to the pasturing area road gravel base.
