The factors that influence the reliability of the bearing capacity of existing buildings such as loads, strength of materials, dimension of members are random variables. But those uncertain factors are not taken into account by the used evaluation method of existing buildings, so the result of evaluation maybe is out of accord with facts of building, specially the discrete rate of these random variables is biggish, the result of the current method will be insecure. The use of structural reliability theory in evaluation will supply a gap and enhance scientificalness of evaluation of existing buildings.First, the use of structural reliability theory in analysing reliability of existing RC frame's members is recommended. Distribution probability of loads, combination of loads' effect, calculation of carrying capacity of members, calculation of reliability and partition of safe grade are studied. Then structural system theory used in frames is recommended. Generation of dominant mechanisms, calculation of the reliability of structual system, partition of safe grade are studied. Finally, an engineering example (a 15 years old teaching building) is analysed, the relibility of structual members and systems is calculated, and the reliability of structual bearing capability is appraised. Through comparing with the result of current analysis method, it is illuminated that the analysis of reliability of existing buildings' bearing capacity using structual reliability theory is complicated, but more accurate and rational result is got. |
