With the fast development of electric railway in China, a large quantity of new techniques has been used in power supply system of electric railway. Substation integrated automation system, which is based on computer, modern electric, communication and digital signal processing techniques, has these functions- automatically monitoring, metering, control, protection, and communication. The system has these features-integrated function, intelligent management and miniaturization. The system can make substation to be unattended and improve the reliability, management level of traction power supply system. Therefore, substation integrated automation system is applied to the power supply system of electric railway at present.The paper analyses the functional demand of Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway to integrated automation system on the basis of Zhanyi-Kunming railway rebuilding engineering. The paper includes following contents:Firstly, demand analysis about the monitoring and control functions in integrated automation system of Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway is given, including each kind of telemeter, remote control and condition monitoring of electrical equipments.Secondly, demand analysis about microprocessor-based protection is discussed. The demand and design principles about the supervisory, control and protection functions of tractiontransformer, feeder and capacitor compensation device are proposed according to the main devices in traction substation of Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway.Thirdly, the structure of the substation integrated automation system of Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway is analyzed.And then the field bus of substation integrated automation system is discussed.Fifthly, demand analysis about the dispatching control system and substation communication network in substation integrated automation system of Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway is presented.Finally, the setting values of all kinds of protection are calculated for Qujing traction substation.The analysis conclusion can provide the design reference for the substation integrated automation system of power supply system for Zhanyi-Kunming electric railway.
