3D Solid Friction Contact Analysis is a method adapted to calculate contact solid problem. This method has arisen in the several years recently. With this method applied, much more accurate results have been obtained the structure been taken as an assembly model instead of a large single component. Friction contact analysis method is more complicated, but it is more accurate.First, the elastic-plastic deformation process is analyzed when the rivet is riveted. The distributed contact forces between rivet and the riveted plates are calculated, and the distributed forces are considered as force boundary conditions. A 3D solid friction contact method is applied in this paper. Stiffness matrix of contact element has been presented, and the contact force and friction force between friction contact pairs of nodes are calculated too. Several kinds of contact problems of assembly models are calculated through ANSYS, and the used number of rivets of every group is discussed on the riveted structure. The contact analysis process of the 3D assembly solid model is introduced in detail.Second, the 3D solid model of truck frame is built up with the software Pro/E, and then the 3D assembly solid model is analyzed with the software ANSYS, which is used for FEM contact analysis of structures. The calculation result obtained through this method is more accurate than that of traditional finite element method. Contact analysis is a new useful method to the design of riveted truck frame. The idea of optimized design is supplied. It is the first time in domestic that the friction contact method is applied to the riveted truck frame.Ultimately, The 3D solid model of truck frame is analyzed for modal. On the basis, the more dynamics analysis of truck frame can be done.
