The concept of "skin" originated in biology has been used in architecture realm. This thesis wants to get a comprehensive knowledge of "skin". At first, definite and extent the conception of "skin", explore the development of it. Then, introduce the "skin" conception into the whole architecture realm and relate it with other relative conceptions, the consideration of "skin" is actually the consideration of basic architectural relations, "skin" is related with all levels of basic architecture problems such as space, environment and construction , and it may be a bridge to cope with the relations between building and environment, between man and space, and between construction and form. In the end, from the configuration and phenomenon of "skin", seeking the rich meaning behind it.The thesis mainly discusses the relation between "skin" and space, the utilization of nature energy and the technology strategy of the construction form of "skin". By analyzing how the skin can undertake the function of respiration, giving off heat, absorbing heat, etc that a life organ instinctively has, understand the component materials and construction form of the skin as this complex organ.
