The structural system of concrete bearing wall combined with insulating formsas heat-proof layers is a new type energy saving structural system of the bearingwall. In this paper, the seismic behavior for combined wall made up of wall units withwire mesh is experimentally investigated. The research project is carried out bytesting a group of 7 large-scale specimen under cyclic loadings to obtain their failuremodes and their hysteretic behavior.According to the test results, their load carryingcapacity, deformation ability, structural stiffness, and energy consuming capacity arecompared with each other. The major factors considered are axial force ratio, aspectratio, strengthen steel bar and connection mode of wall units.Based on the test resultsand analytical research, some formulas are proposed for estimating the bearingcapacity and the calculation results agree well with the measured values. The test results show that the combined wall can be used for lowly and tier buil-ding in Earthquake zone;and,by further studies and improvement,it can replacetraditional masonry structures as a new style structural system....
