As the developing of electrical industry, more and more transmission lines and stations are built to meet the need of power system. In recent years, transmission lines' rebuilding is carried out in many cities and lead to electromagnetic radiation by high voltage transmission lines and stations. Electromagnetic pollution has become a serious problem. Therefore systematic study on environmental influence by electromagnetic radiation has both important academic meaning and engineering value. This paper mainly researchs the electromagnetic radiation in Chongqing. Ten stations and fourteen transmission lines are sampled to scale the intensity of electrical field and the intensity of magnetic field. The values measured practically are compared to the value calculated theoretically. The conclusions in this paper are as follows:(1) Regarding the electric field distribution around the stations, where are in hill, or the tall buildings, so the field intensity above ground is uneven. The field intensity declines as the distance increasing far from the stations.(2) The research result shows that the electric field and magnetic field strengths of high-voltage transmission lines and stations over 110 kV owned by Chongqing electrical company satisfy the need of electromagnetic environment.(3) Spotting monitors show that when the electrical equipments are in normal operation, it don't do harm to the publics, except in several measuring spots, but no people live there.(4) According to the values calculated theoretically, electromagnetic radiation beyond 25 m from the transmission lines with the voltage at 500 kV meet the standard, and the radiation beyond 4 m from the unilateralism 220 kV transmission lines, 7 m from the bidirectional transmission lines and anywhere around 110 kV are all meet thestandard.(5) According to the values measured practically, electromagnetic radiation has some affection to the environment within 25 m around the transmission lines at 500kV, but basically, the intensity around each scale voltage transmission lines mainly satisfy the standard in the scope as calculated above.
