Space Of Life--Analysis Of Wuzhen's Residence Space

The environment of people'residence has important impact to people's life. In the residence formed naturally in Chinese history, the environment is well combined with people's life, which is lack by new cities and towns. The paper is studying the age-old town in the delta area of Yangtze Rive - Wu Zhen, and would like to analyze how the environment impacts the residents' life.The author thinks the environmental structure of Wu Zheng materialized the dominant consideration for public open space, and design principle of focus on people. Pavement is the main line, mixed with other constructions. The town residents get their colorful daily life experience, and meanwhile the old town survives continuously.We hope the enlightenment form Wuzhen can be helpful to our design practices. We should put more attention to historical culture and texture of old town, and always place human life at the important position to create modern town just belongs to our nation.
