In 2003, there were104,000 people killed and49, 400 people injured in the 667,000 traffic crashes, which resulted in and leaddirect economic cost for 3,370 million Yuan. A recent statistical study has found thatabout 10%-20% of all accidents have something to do with alignments andenvironments. Moreover, 20% of these fatal accidents occur on curves in rural areas.Unfortunately, the research of the mechanism of accident in these road segments andwhat measures to deal with dark point of accident has not carried out deeply. At first this article has summarized the current research situation in domesticand abroad of accidental roadway. From the accident statistics characteristic of theaccidental (from K55 to K50, to reach Beijing direction )of Badaling expressway, theauthor research on roadway alignment, traffic safety devices and drivingcharacteristic and ect al in detail to find out the common statistics characteristic andconstant law embodied in traffic accidents . Then this article analyzes the cause oftraffic accident dark dot to pick out main composition inducing crashes. On thisbasis the article makes some suggestions on deal with the black dot, including thescheme of change road infrastructure, traffic engineering facilities along the road,optimizing traffic administration. As a result, this will be helpful to reduce hidden IIAbstract danger in accident section of highway and to reduce accident incidence andaccident severity.
