GB17761-1999 contains the general technical requirements for electric bicycle industry, and it designates the methods to control the process quality in electric bicycle production. However, there exist some limitations, for the methods are based on testing bicycles on road.This thesis outlines a special instrument called "Electric bicycle testing platform", which can carry out the quality assurance procedure and provide the production of electric bicycles with a numerical assessment.Chapter one gives the background of current development in measurement instrument and the general requirements for this project.To construct such a complex system, chapter two introduces some innovative ideas to organize the design activities, including design methodology and teamwork communications.Measurement and control subsystem decides the platform's kernel functions. In chapter three and chapter four, the major technical contents in this project are showed. And the testing mechanism and software realization are discussed in detail.Chapter five presents the method of implementing the seamless communication integration between field instruments and upper level information system. Furthermore, a new type of testing platform is in discussion.Chapter Six summarizes the current R&D outcomes in this project, and also arranges the future work needed for upgrading the system.
