Due to many benefits of cement-stabilized gravel base, good strength, low cost, wide source, it is widely used in West of China. However, reflective cracking is its drawback. With laboratory test and theory analysis, anti-cracking property of cement-stabilized base is systematically studied in this paper. With orthodoxy design, based on typical structure of semi-rigid based asphalt pavement, mechanics design parameter is thoroughly studied. And reasonable resilient modulus and thickness ranges of semi-rigid base materials are concluded. This paper proposes two ways to solve the problem of reflective cracking, multi-stabilized gravel and mixing AE (air-entraining) admixture, In the process of mixture design, a new design way is presented, which follows principle of max density. Through systematical study on these kinds of materials, some rules were found. Not old evaluation indexes on strain are only used, but also rupture mechanics theory is used in the process of anti-cracking evaluation. Anti-cracking evaluations of multi-stabilized gravel base and mixed AE admixture cement-stabilized base are deeply discussed in this paper.
