The atrium in the commercial building is not only the organizers of conduct of business and function, but also the space form is changeable and abundant in content. It is the quintessence part of the indoor business environment. This text attempt to describe the commercial building from the respect of history, consumer, city and building, thus draw the design principle and method of commercial building's atrium .At first ,this paper from angle of history analyse commercial building's atrium on inherent mechanism and his development course, in order to make a clear understanding of commercial building's atrium in historical origin, and then define the concept of commercial building's atrium and refine the research range of this text. Secondly, from the angle of consumer's psychology , discuss mankind psychological activity how to influence that environment develop of the atrium in commercial building, analysis human impression and request of environment whether is the reason of development of commercial building's atrium from simple corridor in early days to the style of modern pluralism and ambiguity. Thridly, from the angle of city, analyse the function and meaning of commercial building's atrium as one part of the whole network structure of city public space and architectural space.
