Designs Of Simulation Systems For Electric Container Bank Cranes

Virtual reality technology (VR) is thought to be advanced in the simulation field. This thesis analyzes the development and application of VR technology and computer simulation technology all over the world, aims at meeting the specific requirements of the training of container bank crane operators (CBC) and other port crane operators in China, and presents to you design methods and plans as well as real operation examples of simulation systems for electric CBCs. Furthermore, it even creates a tentative workable model of a lifting tackle for a CBC. Here follows the major work of this thesis:1.Elaborating on the significance of developing simulation systems for electric CBCs both in theory and in practice by summarizing recent researches and application of computer simulators throughout the world and by analyzing present training condition for CBC operators.2.Creating a workable model of a lifting tackle according to its movement characteristics after studying the structure and performance of CBCs.3.Expounding the functions and composition of simulation systems for electric CBCs by referring to operators' training requirements in ports of China. Analyzing the key technology of current simulation systems, which contributes to the developing of simulation systems for electric CBCs in China by serving as an instructive reference.4.Expatiating on the expected application of VR technology to the above-mentioned simulation systems.5.Presenting here an improvement scheme on how to miniaturize the mock-up of an electric CBC while still meeting the needs of fault-devising and fault-handling during the course of operators' training, and thus achieving the goal of perfecting the practice conditions for trainees.Wu Dun Hai (Communication & Shipping Engineering)Directed by: Shi Xin...
