Conceptual design phase has more innovatively than others do during entire circle of product design, whose result has great influence to product's rivalrousness. Research method for conceptual design is becoming the key technique of Intelligent Design. As a part of Nature Science Foundation of China (No.50175103), the paper aims to set up a new intelligent algorithm for mechanical conceptual design on base of Extension and Genetic Algorithm.The first chapter reports aims and significance of the paper. It also proposes the paper's orientation and strategy after analyzing current intelligent researching methods for conceptual design and their limitations. The next chapter firstly discusses basic concepts and structure of conceptual design system, and then sets up a adaptive conceptual design system which is consisted of three parts-design environment, designprocess and design substance. In the third part of the paper, the express of design knowledge, relations between product model and researching methods are discussed. After indicating one viewpoint that the key of product modeling is the express of design knowledge this chapter gives a matter-gene model for conceptual design orientated for matter element transformation and genetic algorithm. Chapter four indicates the process of evolutionary solving in conceptual design, and gives the coding mechanismof genetic algorithms for design project. Crossover and mutation operators of algorithms are set up according to the theory of matter element transformation. Chapter five reports the evaluation technology for project using dependence function, which is based on multi-object evaluation technology. Also in this chapter fitness function of genetic algorithms is built according to the above strategy. Finally, the paper demonstrates how to solve the conceptual design problem of mechanical transmission using evolutionary strategy, and gets the satisfactory answers about three comparable tasks. |
