The main purpose is applying the statistical energy analysis method to forecast the high frequency wheel/rail noise. Due to the basic theory of acoustics:the fundamentality reason of noise is vibrate. The wheel-rail noise is generated by vibration that is caused by the surface roughness of wheel-rail. According the principle of the statistical energy analysis method, define subsystem the whole system into four subsystem:subsystem of rail's vertical vibration, subsystem of wheel's vertical vibration, subsystem of wheel's lateral vibration and subsystem of acoustic space. Then define the power flow equation between the subsystems. At the same time, using Remington's wheel-rail interaction model, calculate the interaction force between the wheel and rail and the input power of each subsystem. Evaluate the mode count, damping loss factor and coupling loss factor. According the fundamental of the acoustics, predict the wheel-rail noise. At the same time, the wayside noise is calculated at different pass by speed, different forecast's distance and different parameters of SEA. The results show that the wayside noise increases 8dB-12dB,if the train's velocity increase two times;and increases 3 dB,if the number of axles increase tow times;and decreases 3dB,if the distance far away from the track increase tow times damping loss factor increases, the wayside noise decreases;coupling loss factor increase, the wayside noise increase.
